Buy With Confidence

Let’s face it. Most people are not jewelry experts.

The availability of products is staggering and there is a myriad of price points. Why are two stones that look almost exactly alike priced so differently?

During my gemological training at GIA, I was astounded at the diverse education required to truly understand gems. Did you know that the study of gemstones includes not only geology and chemistry but also physics and geometry? It made me wish I had taken better notes in high school! Yet, I still find every aspect of gemology to be truly fascinating.

One of the unique aspects of Tresina is my business background in corporate training. As a trainer, I was tasked with explaining complex processes in an easily comprehensible way. I bring this same philosophy to my jewelry business. I want you to understand your options and make a sound decision based on the facts. Unlike a traditional retailer, I don’t need to rush the sales process so I can spend as much time as it takes for you to explore all options and feel confident in the value you receive.

Natural vs. Lab Grown

Lab grown diamonds have the same crystal structure and chemical composition as natural diamonds. But instead of being grown in the earth for millions of years, they’re grown in a lab under conditions similar to nature. Lab-grown diamonds are less expensive because they’re more readily available. They can be identical in appearance and detectable only by trained gemologists and sophisticated equipment. Some customers feel that lab grown diamonds are more environmentally conscious. As a consumer, you can make the choice as to which type of stone is best for you.

In this photo, the stone in the middle is lab-grown. Could you tell?
